polkadoodles challenge card

this week Polkadoodles challenge was to use the download provided & if you wanted to you could follow the sketch so I did both! I experimented a little with my stampin up! ink pads as the sky for the most part was done with this using rubbing alcohol instead of water I think it came out quite well the rest of the colouring was done with my letraset markers

the ladybugs were cut 1" using WIMG the red parts I tripple embossed with red but had to go over them with a red marker as had some whiteout happening I think this happens if it gets too hot

the notes are peel offs, I cut & coloured an additional branch which is popped on the front
the grass is cut using DS & PDDU
the fence was cut following the sketch LO using DS & GBS which I then embossed & coloured the feature lines in a brown marker to give definition to the bark effect

the inside I have created a backing paper with the bird on the branch image repeated
The sheet music is in the tune of 'Happy Birthday'

which you can change the name on to the person you are sending the Birthday card too, neat eh! this is to my dear friend Debbie (don't look Deb!)

Retirement word book

so here is the retirement word book I have been busy working on
Mrs Pike the dpty head is retiring at the end of this term after 25yrs
the occassion could not be marked with out a special card from all the staff
so I offered to make one

hand made box tied with gold organza ribbon & a flourish from HA in gold & cream topped with star flower from america & the purple star flower is SU punch

I had trouble photographing as it was bigger than my light box so please excuse the poor photos, I used chocolate brown as a base for most of the card with muted gold & cream SU card which has been embossed with flower & bird CB folder I used rings to bind but had to take these off as they were too heavy for the card & I hand tied in ribbon instead like I usually do
font on letters is from hello kitty in normal & shadow

detailing on the card is carried throughout my reference point were music, tag rugby with favorite things being North yorkshire, cat stevens & Raspberries
this is the music card as Mrs Pike played the piano the notes & piano are peel off's the frame is from SB

this is the favorite's page there are 4 cat stevens music song's reduced & held with a brad & reduced map of North Yorkshire & a lovely basket of raspberries

the rugby player is from soccer cart as did not have a rugby player but I have squashed a football cut to make a rugby ball which he is running with, Mrs pike was in charge of the tag rugby at the school the H from the happy is the uprights with our school colours on.

all the letters on this card have been embossed

& the reverse of the card is room for all the staff to sign well wishes
Head Master was well impressed when I took it in this morning
so I am chuffed job done x

polkadoodles challenge card

I am just lovin my new letraset promarker pens I have to admit I was a little sceptical about buying them against getting a standard felt tip pen, my word they are wonderful I enjoyed myself a lot with these, this is the first Tilda I have coloured got in a recent swap & the first thing I coloured using promarkers I am chuffed with my finished piece & what a joy is was to couple it with lilyboo's flower images too. So the challenge this week on polkadoodles was to create a get well card incorporating a bug of some kind & using a different medium of ribbon I used partly unravelled raffia string which I made into a bit more foliage & then completely unravelled to tie in a knot," just because I care" is an SU stamp. I would like to send this to one of the children my Friend Enfys introduced us to the other day if you would like to take part here is the link its for children dealing with long term illnesses. "Get well soon" would not have worked in this case as most of them won't for a very long time & sometimes even never so is a cheerier card just to bring a little sunshine. I used a roller stamp with SU ink & then clear embossed, my bug is the bee tilda is holding although my 6 YO did point out she ought not to be holding a bee as it might sting her! here is the link for the stair step fold card

polkadoodles challenge card in matching box

I love presenting cards in boxes this one
was made to size & the tag is a reflection
of the card inside, your greeting can be
written on the reverse

the challenge this week was to use a fruit shape &
a hidden dimension, I linked this with the cricut uk MB
challenge to use red & came up with a shiney apple

I clear embossed the red card
& welded two apples from HA cart
punched a hole through 3 layers
created the apple centre using cream & green
card stock the pip's have been coloured brown
then clear embossed as well
& hiding under the swing flap is our little
wiggly catterpillar so that's who made the hole!

cheeky little critter!

challenge card

from the hello kitty font cart
I used chocolate chip ink then clear
embossing powder ontop to give a glossy
finish to the so swirly stamped image

this one is the flower flourish from tinkerbell
& friends cart I welded Fran's name to it
the embossing was the same
format but because it was on gold pearlised
card it came out like caramalised toffee

& the embossing on the green is gold
