Get Well card

Here is a card I made for my friend Val,
I used some cutouts I had made to go with an acetate shaker card which I demo'd at our last crop, I cut them in DS using george, the green top layer is popped to give dimension & on the lower purple bit I have stamped & heat embossed in gold a very swirly "get well" on the inside I have hand written "soon" I have roller stamped across a few of the corners using Anna griffen vert ink pad from Enfys & ran a line down the inside too, the brads on this one are home dipped first in pink humbrol paint, this was a batch I did over a year ago before I discovered dipping & heat embossing, then I coloured using permenant purple pen I gave it a sweeping motion so it looks kinda strippy & it is much more purple IRL, I finished it off with a large organza ribbon tied in a bow & I made a box for it to go in, I really love making boxes for my cards now.

baby girl card

here is a baby girl card I was commissioned to
make I had to lop the bottom off this one so the personal details were not exposed for some reason even thought I edited it in photobucket when you clicked to add the photo it lost the blanked out bit so had to delete that one in the end, I embossed, ribboned & punched this card mainly using the same format which I love & there you have inside my ribbon trade mark as Izzy likes to call it! Baby was cut using OA

Do you think he saurus?

we have a birthday party to go to tomorrow so got cracking on this card, its an idea I have been thinking of for a while now to go with the joke " do you think he saurus" the dinosaur that is!!
I cut the leaves in mirri card Green from PDDU acc1 at 4.5cm & the dino is cut using DS there is no shadow feature with them so I cut the shadow by hand, to give a little definition I have inked with colour box moss green, the text is computer generated & so is the mini dino the birthday boy is from SB & one I cut out ages ago & had in a box of cutout bits, the card consists of 1xA4 sheet of pearlised card in muted gold colour which I scored down either side no measuring just wanted to allow enough room for dino to be stuck down, the front panels are there to hide the base of the plants really, so just a bit of green I had around which I stamped happy birthday on, upside down by mistake so had to stamp both ways up to match, to be honest I had very little equipment & stash to use on this one as most of my kit is still at church after the crop yesterday so had to make do & mend for the most part so I am pleased it came out as good as it did

Here is my latest a 60th (Diamond) Wedding Anniversary card, another commissioned piece, hope she likes it, for a friend of mine's Grandparents.
I used two pearlised A4 card pieces in white & silver same layouts as before, I cut in a textured silver card the latice panel from WC expanded in DS to fit my card then I cut two diamonds in a size smaller than each other & stuck these two together this was embossed through CB & I used two clear gem brads, I cut two tags from CB die & computer generated words for Name & all the other words on the card, which my client chose, this is the wonderful thing about these cards against shop bought, hey might cost a little more but are so personal to the receiver of the card, the quote on the front is on a lilac pearlised card & the edging is punched with my MS arch punch (thank you Enfys) I made a plain white box tied with large organza ribbon, hand cut the diamond on the front & the 60th is from George cart cut in white & silver

"Hop'ing for a speedy recovery"

One of the ladies in my church sadly slipped & has broken her leg so I have made a card to aid in her recovery.
this is the scalloped card from WC made slightly oval in DS cut from the DCWV glitter stack & I used a flower frame adjusted in DS & welded the getbetter again both from WC, across the centre & have backed in a tangerine cardstock, I have a green frog brad from my stash & I doodled a little around the edge, on the inside I have a frog cut from PDDU & a stocking from CC I layered copier paper in rough strips to create the plaster cast effect then just snipped off the hanging tag that these come with, my words inside say "Hop'ing for a speedy recovery"

Look what My Husband made me!

Well earlier this week you would have seen that Enfys had sent me some candy, in it was a lovely K&Company smitten valentines banner, so hubby shocked at the thought of valentines looming I suggested he made this up for me, my DH is not a creative type & winced at the thought but finally tonight he said he was going to make it but rather then me sit in the other room he insisted that I sit with him & coach, I was very hands off & let him work his way through it bit by bit I snuck off & got the camera turning the flash off so as not to startle him (like a rabbit in the head lights scampering off in the bush) but he did not flinch & was okay with the camera so flash back on I took some more, I am so proud of my sweet husband he seemed to enjoy it but felt very feminine doing it! he has to put up with a lot of crafting from me & is a real trooper, I love him to bits xx

This is a keeper. x

BBTB entry LOVE in brown

here is my interpretation of the challenge set by the BBTB team to use the LOVE from home accents cart but it had to be in brown, I had the idea to make the heart into a little book which opens up to reveal U&me 4 Ever another big card, I think the paper is dovecraft fantasy, love those little fairy's & I continued the swirly effect onto the card stock, which is a muted white gold using Jumbo roller & a mocha embossing powder, the book consists of 4 hearts welded in DS then concertina folded, heart & shadow cuts in pink & the top is in brown I have zig zag sewn the LVE in pink cotton with a triple stitch the flourish is from HA too, cut in blackout & shadow in brown & dark brown suede, the filigree in sized in DS from the wedding cart, inside the heart book is chipboard letters which I have triple embossed with glitter pink & mocha embossing powders, the " &" +button heart are from the candy Enfys send me, the ribbon to tie the book is from my stash & the inside is computer generated my ink started running out & it is supposed to be brown text but some of it has come through green but I quite like this effect

Wedding Card

well I just had to use my MS punch from the candy I won & I have seen some wonderful uses of the Joy's of The Season cart 2 french hens really need to keep checking those Christmas carts there is so much on them we can use throughout the year, so i started with a sheet of cream paerlised paper in 15x21cm & using my jumbo roller I versa marked & then dusted with white embossing powder, set it with the heat gun & instant glamour me thinks! then I punched at the top & side to give a feature & really wanted to show the detail of the cut so I did some more on the bottom but this time I cut all the way to the edges so it is not an encapsulated border, then I stretched the two french hens using DS & I cut the shadow in muted gold foil then cut the main in black then the detail in red for the heart & white for the birds, I cuttlebugged these in divine swirl, I hung the bird swing up with a gold brad, each of the elements I glued with art clear drying glue & popped the top layer birds & heart for definition the top corner flourish is another from JOTS cart cut shadow in muted gold & the top in dark brown suede ( love this stuff ) the text is computer generated the font is called Fiolex Girls it has such cute little hearts in it, this is printed on the same pearlised cream paper then layered on gold again & popped, all of this is then stuck straight onto an A4 gold card folded then the inside is A4 vellum with printed text same font as front & yes had to use the punch again I trimmed the vellum slightly smaller than the card & finished with a knotted white ribbon to hide my double sided tape .

Candy a dieting girl likes!!

Valentine's card inna box

So here is my latest card design a commissioned piece for my friend to give her partner this valentines, I made this one a special box too, I used cricut SB cart with design studio for the border cutout & the tag from TBBM & the text on tag is from WC , I used the roller stamp for the insert in the box with plain black ink, but on the front of the card I used it on black card with clear embossing which gave the card a really luxurious feel a very inexpensive way of sprucing up plain paper. The text is computer generated, the inserts for the card are 2 A4 sheets of pearlised paper these are folded then I punched holes through both bits & set some eyelets in then threaded red satin ribbon through to give a really sexy feel to the card, the box is made to measure the size of card is approx 21x20cm the card for the box is cut @26x27cm then scored 1" all the way round, for the lid you score just a few mm less than 1" otherwise it will be too tight.

I've finally done it!

Thats it now, I have taken the plunge after being exposed to so many wonderful Blogs shared on the cricut MB I just had to start one of my own. can't promise it will be anything fantastic but hey ho I will give it my best shot, gonna be finding my feet for a while so bear with me & watch this space!
Today see's the 2nd batch of snow we have had this week with just under a foot falling over night the children were very suprised when they looked out the window this morning, this is the first real snow my children have seen & played in so they were very excited today, with all the school's closed they are causing havoc but are now very quiet, usually means they are up to no good, we in most of the UK are never prepared for snow so when we get it most everything ginds to a holt! it does look pretty tho.
